Wellington, NZ - Temporary stores are turning up all over Wellington’s central business district, timed to cater to the influx of visitors the city is hosting for World of WearableArts.
Pop-up stores have livened up Wellington’s retail scene with temporary shops taking advantage of unleased sites and giving landlords brief relief from the city’s high vacancy rates. According to Colliers research, Manners St vacancy hit 21.6 per cent in June while Willis St was 7.3 per cent empty and 5.2 per cent of Lambton Quay was untenanted.
The old ASB site on Manners St, which had been empty for months, has been briefly taken over by discounted footwear The Bootery and clothing from seven New Zealand designers including Starfish, State of Grace and Deb Sweeney.Continue Reading »
