Topeka, KS – Some of the proceeds from a “pop-up” store opened by Mars Inc. will benefit downtown revitalization, according to Topeka boosters.
A temporary M&M’s World store will open March 28 and run through April 13. Hours are 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday and noon to 5 p.m. Sunday. It will set up in the former Marion Lane Candles shop at 713 S. Kansas, according to Vince Frye, president and CEO of Downtown Topeka Inc.
Some of the merchandise will have a “Made in Topeka” logo to celebrate the opening of a chocolate plant in Topeka this spring. Proceeds from some of the sales will benefit the Downtown Topeka Foundation, which is raising money for aesthetic improvements as part of the plan to revitalize Kansas Avenue, according to Edie Smith, director of membership and marketing for DTI.Continue Reading »
