Chicago, IL - A company that plans to open a kiosk at the Chicago Ridge Mall believes it has the answer to consumers’ questions about what to do with their old cell phones.

Representatives of EcoATM announced at the Chicago Ridge Village Board’s meeting Nov. 7 that the company will be coming to the village this month to collect old and used cell phones in exchange for cash.

San Diego-based EcoATM was founded in 2008 by entrepreneur Mark Bowles, who realized he did not know how to recycle his old cell phones. Today, roughly 20 percent of phones in the United States are recycled, according to market analyst firm Compass Intelligence.
