Waco, TX – Charlotte Russe, a San Francisco-based retailer of trendy women’s clothing and accessories, is remodeling about 4,200 square feet of space in Richland Mall and likely will open around Aug. 1, shortly before the mall completes its multimillion-dollar facelift.
The chain, which primarily targets women in their teens and 20s, has taken the former Kitchen Collection space near the Zales jewelry store. It has begun advertising a summer opening, mall general manager Kandace Menning said.
Menning said hopes Charlotte Russe is the first of several stores the new-look mall attracts. The 34-year-old structure, Waco’s only totally enclosed shopping center, lost a longtime tenant in May, when The Gap clothing retailer announced it will relocate to Central Texas Marketplace when its lease expires this year.
