Torrance, CA – A 21-month project to demolish and rebuild the north end of Torrance’s Del Amo Fashion Center will begin in February, although an enlarged and brighter food court is slated for completion in time for this holiday season.

Tim Magill, a partner in Hollywood-based 5+design, the project’s architect, told the City Council this week that the food court represents the “most amazing transformation” of the shopping center and amounts to a sneak peek of what the rest of it will look like once completed in fall 2015.

“Rather than the dark dreary space you have, now it will be flooded with light,” Magill said. “The notion is to make it feel open and airy and a completely different look for the mall than you see today.”
