Are all the courses online or do I have to go to a classroom?
Specialty Retail Report’s Specialty Leasing Designation courses will be available online by first quarter 2012. A minimum of five classes will be taught live and in person at The Summit prior to the SPREE Tradeshow each year.
How do I find what courses are offered and when?
Following The Summit program each year, an additional four courses will be available via interactive webinars and the remainder (six courses) in the following year. If you signed up for the Specialty Leasing Designation Certificate Program, you will automatically be sent emails about upcoming for-credit courses provided during the balance of the year. If you did not sign up for the Certificate Program, please go to www.specialtyleasingdesignation.com for more information.
How do I register for a course?
When you click “ENROLL NOW” you will be taken to the registration page. When you register, you will receive an email confirming your payment.
What is The Summit?
Various Specialty Retail Report’s Certificate Program courses will be taught by shopping center and retail industry professionals two days prior to SPREE. Students who are planning to attend SPREE can come to the show in advance and participate in these courses.
Will these courses be taped?
Most courses taught at The Summit will be audio/video taped and available online. Students can select any number of these courses and take them in any sequence.
Who can take these courses leading towards a Specialty Leasing Designation (SLD)?
Anyone can take the courses offered by Specialty Retail Report. It is recommended that new specialty leasing managers with less than three years experience in the industry take these courses to secure their basic knowledge of “best industry practices.” Or, if you have been in the industry and want a refresher course, this is the ideal solution.
Do I need to be enrolled in the Specialty Leasing Designation certificate program to take a course?
No. All courses are open to anyone interested in seeking continued growth.
Can I take just those courses I am interested in?
Yes, you can take any courses you wish. PLEASE NOTE: When you complete all 15 required courses (30 credits), you will have completed the Certificate Program and will be awarded the Specialty Leasing Designation (SLD) certificate.
How long does it take to get my Specialty Leasing Designation?
It will take up to one year if you begin your training at The Summit (take five training courses) followed by webinars throughout the year and then attend the following year’s Summit.
Is there an exam at the conclusion of the courses?
No. In each class, instructors will conduct mini-proficiency quizzes.
