Whether it’s pop up restaurants, big brand experiences or celebrity driven boutiques, pop ups are becoming an increasingly common sight in the UKs shopping destinations.

By embracing this growing trend, commercialisation can provide a key additional income stream, minimise costs on units, add value with PR and social media coverage and deliver experiences that will keep visitors coming back. The best experiential activities capture the public’s imagination, provide talk-ability, drive product sampling and sales and the same is true of pop ups.

Due to the short term nature of pop ups, they need to make an immediate impact and those that make an impact are often unusual or unexpected. One recent example was the Asparagus Patch at Liverpool One, cited as the world’s first asparagus-themed restaurant that ran through the asparagus season in May and June.
