St Louis Park, MN – The owner of Knollwood Mall is moving forward with plans for a long-anticipated redevelopment of the property.

Rouse Properties Inc. has submitted a proposal to the city of St. Louis Park that calls for removing the interior of the mall between the Kohls and T.J. Maxx stores, according to city documents. The 15 small shops located in that area would be replaced with approximately five junior-box retailers roughly the size of the mall’s Old Navy store, which is 14,474 square feet.

Rouse also wants to build a small, three-tenant building in the parking lot, near the corner of Highway 7 and Aquila Avenue. One of the tenants would be Panera Bread, which would relocate from its current location in the mall.
