Long Beach, CA – New development plans for the Pike at Rainbow Harbor were revealed last week and it appears that the latest plan is to turn the maligned waterfront complex into a destination outlet mall. Vermont-based property developer EWB launched a website and released a brochure showing the Pike rebranded as the Outlets at The Pike.

Information was released on a website detailing turning the complex into a “new outlet hub for Los Angeles County and Southern California,” according to EWB. EWB hopes to transform the failing center into a major tourist attraction, with the arrival of outlet shops for brands such as Nike, H&M and Tommy Hilfiger.

A “Coming Soon” sign on the former location of V20 The Venue announces that Restoration Hardware Outlet will be the first store installed in this change. The outlet mall is scheduled to reopen at the end of the year.
