Des Moines, IA - The owners of Southridge Mall in Des Moines are ready to unveil parts of a $27 million redo of the shopping center and list some new tenants.

The former enclosed mall is being transformed into an open-air center with a courtyard and outdoor access to most stores.

Center officials are expected to announce today that some new tenants will join longtime retailers Younkers, Sears, Target and nearby Hy-Vee at the 37-year-old center. City officials said retailers Rue 21, Foot Locker, T-Mobile, Sprint and Kay Jewelers have taken out permits to finish space in the mall.
