Schaumburg, IL – Retail sales in Schaumburg are looking up, and village officials are hoping a strong holiday shopping season will help pull the numbers up from recent recession-era returns.

Schaumburg, long dependent on retail sales tax, has been getting good news recently as sales figures are slightly outpacing the village’s modest projections. Holiday shopping, a vital time for any retail-heavy municipality, is looking good so far, raising hopes for a stronger fiscal year for the village.

“It’s been better than last year, and the way it has been trending, we are beating projections,” said Acting Director of Finance Jodie Andrew.
