The World's Largest Resource for the Cart, Kiosk, and Temporary Retail Industry
by Press Release

Hanover, Massachusetts – The cart and kiosk specialty retail market segment grew by over 10.5% in 2010 according to new figures released today in Specialty Retail Pulse, a report commissioned by Specialty Retail Report Magazine. Bucking the trend of other business segments, this entrepreneurial sales channel continues to grow by leaps and bounds.

Thanks to a generous grant from the Max F. James Family Foundation, over 5,800 tenant records were collected and analyzed to provide the first industry benchmarks for the sector. Now, specialty retailers and mall developers across the US and Canada will be able to compare and contrast unit sales, category sales and other data to plan strategy and ultimately increase revenue.

“The North American regional and super-regional shopping center specialty retail market is a 3 billion dollar industry that provides jobs, revenue, and tax receipts in local communities. More importantly, the specialty retail market provides a valid indicator on the recovery of the economy in North America,” said Patricia Norins, Publisher of Specialty Retail Report.

Specialty Retail Pulse provides top-level benchmark comparisons for the specialty retail industry in North American shopping centers for the years 2009 and 2010. The findings are compiled from developers and retailers who agreed to participate in the study by providing retail sales, lease rates and other details.
