The World's Largest Resource for the Cart, Kiosk, and Temporary Retail Industry

A long-stalled multibillion-dollar project west of New York City is poised to trump Bloomington, Minn.,’s Mall of America as the nation’s largest retail and entertainment complex and become the biggest in the world, as well.

The newly renamed American Dream, in East Rutherford, N.J., is scheduled to open in 2013 and will measure 7.5 million square feet after an initial expansion in 2014.

Developers said Monday that American Dream will top the world’s largest retail and entertainment attraction, Beijing’s Golden Resources Mall at 6 million square feet.

However, expansion plans in the works for the Mall of America (currently at 4.25 million square feet) will allow it to leapfrog back ahead of American Dream, said MOA spokesman Dan Jasper. “There will be a time when American Dream will be larger than the Mall of America,” Jasper said Monday.
