Pueblo retailers are in good cheer about this year’s Christmas shopping season.

Tammie Medina, owner of Lily’s Children’s Clothing on Union Avenue, said she was pleased to see shoppers come in despite a continued economic downturn.

“It was a good, good Christmas season,” Medina said.

“Local people support my store. They keep me open.”

Her store has been open for more than six years and recently added a consignment area. “I have one room of new items and two rooms of consignment and both sides did really well,” Medina said.

Business continued strong even after the holiday as shoppers took advantage Monday of her post-Christmas sales, she said.

Becki Hart, sales manager for the J. C. Penney store in The Pueblo Mall, said that Monday’s business was very good, especially for holiday items.

The only slow seller was outerwear because of the continuing unseasonably warm, dry weather, she said.
