Galesburg, IL – Laura Cree and her husband Mike have been putting the finishing touches on their new shop, the Finishing Touch, which is now open at Sandburg Mall.

The Galesburg couple is expanding their laser-engraving work and unveiled their new space this past weekend.

Located in the former Waldenbook’s space, the expanded Finishing Touch comes after about three years of having a display kiosk of their laser-engraved photo memorials at Sandburg Mall.

The city has high hopes for the business to grow, supporting the Crees with a $10,000 business innovation grant. In conjunction with the city grant, Finishing Touch received a $2,500 grant from the Carl Sandburg College’s Business Technology Center.

Cesar Suarez, economic development director for the city of Galesburg, called Finishing Touch, “creative and innovative.”
