July 7th, 2010RDU Retail Going Upscale
Morrisville – In just a few months, weary fliers at Raleigh-Durham International Airport will be able to kick back and enjoy a relaxing glass of Pinot Noir at a wine bar after browsing for trendy clothes at Brooks Brothers and supping on made-to-order gourmet food.
The retail revolution that began a couple of years ago with the opening of RDU’s redeveloped Terminal 2 will continue with the debut of the terminal’s second phase in early 2011.

In addition to Brooks Brothers and the Vintage Carolina wine bar, the offerings will include Flavours gourmet market, coffee shop Starbucks, the golf-related retailer PGA Tour Shop and newsstand CNBC News.
Children will find something to play with at KidsWorks, and while gourmet food may not whet their appetite, they’ll certainly find tantalizing offerings at sandwich shop Jason’s Deli and hamburger joint Five Guys.
Airports must provide passengers certain core concepts – periodicals, travel accessories and fast food among them. But RDU is working hard to ensure those stores aren’t stale and boring.
