Atlanta, GA – Flip Flop Shops and Scott Hawaii today announced the winner of their summer contest. Yolanda Ayala of Canoga Park, California purchased the winning pair of Scott Hawaii slippahs providing her with an all-expense paid trip to the island of Oahu to “play with her toes exposed!”

Throughout the entire month of June, customers who purchased Scott Hawaii slippahs (the brand’s nod to the way Hawaiians affectionately refer to flip flops and sandals) at any of the Flip Flop Shops’ locations throughout the United States, Canada, and Guam received free Scott Hawaii shwag and were entered into a drawing for a chance to win a dream beach vacation to Hawaii. Out of thousands of Hawaii-bound hopefuls, Ayala received a call that changed her summer forever.

“I can not believe I am the winner of this awesome dream vacation to Hawaii,” said Ayala. “I guess my obsession with flip flops has finally paid off. Now I just need to figure out which pairs of flip flops I’m going to bring on my vacation.”

Ayala’s trip for two to the island of Oahu is packed with activities, including: canoe sailing at sunset off Waikiki Beach and cocktails and dinner with the Scott Hawaii crew; complimentary round trip airfare on Hawaiian Airlines; an Alamo Rental Car; and a week-long stay at the Outrigger Reef Hotel on WaikikiBeach.

“I am so grateful to be a part of this experience,” said Valeh Rashidian (Size 9), Owner of Flip Flop Shops in Canoga Park. “I remember selling Yolanda her pair of Scott Hawaii slippahs and she was just so hopeful to win the vacation. Who knew?”

Steve Scott (Size 9) of Scott Hawaii was really excited about the outcome of this summer-long promotion with Flip Flop Shops to announce the winner of their contest.

“It was amazing to call Yolanda and tell her she won her dream vacation to Hawaii, said Scott (Size 9). “Scott Hawaii’s partnership with Flip Flop Shops has proven to be a great success and we are equally impressed with the way the brand has grown, providing consumers with the hottest brands and latest styles of flip flops and sandals.”

In addition to partnering for this promotion, Scott Hawaii has also been working with Flip Flops Shops’ charitable partner, Soles4Souls, an international footwear distribution charity that has distributed more than 7 million donated pairs of new and gently used shoes to people in more than 125 countries. Scott Hawaii is donating more than 500 pairs of flip flops.

About Scott Hawaii
Founded in 1932 as a footwear company making boots for plantation workers, Scott Hawaii’s rich history was re-written during World War II when supplies were directed to the troops and materials became scarce. In an effort to provide casual footwear for the hard working servicemen of the United States, Scott Shoe Company refocused their efforts from boots to a line of what the local Hawaiians termed “slippahs,” or flip flops as they are known today. The same quality Scott Hawaii brought to its plantation boots in the early 1930’s remains the cornerstone of the company’s mission statement today. As creators of the Original Hawaiian Slippah, the Scott family carries on the tradition of authentic shoe features in their expanding line of sandals by mirroring many of the components found in high quality shoes.
