An interactive paint kiosk that just opened on White Flint mall’s lower level offers advice for color-challenged consumers.

The Benjamin Moore Color Station, a new marketing effort also in two malls in New York and New Jersey, is staffed with employees ready to dispense opinions (we love that) and is stocked with oversize paint chips, two-ounce sample pots, brochures and fan decks. No gallons are sold; customers instead are referred to nearby authorized paint retailers.

“We were looking for a way to reach out to our consumers who have a paint project in the back of their minds that they haven’t taken action on,” says Alistair Linton, Benjamin Moore’s director of retail development. “We decided to take our brand to shopping centers where our customers shop on a regular basis.”
