PLAYLive Video Game Lounge Offers Social Experience at Kelso Mallby Marissa Luck
Kelso, WA – The days of traditional arcades may be long gone, but a new kind of social gaming has come to town. PLAYLive Nation, a new video game lounge at Three Rivers Mall, invites players to mingle and enjoy the latest Xbox One games and equipment for a fraction of the price of owning the games flat out.
Here, instead of arcade machines, there are rows of sleek leather chairs, flat-screen TVs and white-noise-cancelling headphones, all under blue lights. Instead of Pac-Man or Mortal Kombat, you’ll find Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 and Star Wars: Battlefront. Players can team up to fight the same initiative online or compete in mini-tournaments, win prizes, host a party or meet up to play the table-top card game Magic: The Gathering.
It’s also a place where young people can hang out before catching a movie or for parents to drop off the kids while they shop, says owner Jessie Dhoot, 34, of Vancouver.
