Francesca’s Store Might Be Last to Debut With New Mallby Justine Griffin
Sarasota, FL – Francesca’s, a women’s retailer known for low prices on apparel, handbags, jewelry and other accessories, is the latest — and maybe the last — retailer to file building permits for a store in the new Mall at University Town Center before it opens. With the grand opening of the $315 million mall at Interstate 75 and University Parkway less than three months away, most of the property’s tenants — including Apple, H&M, Crate & Barrel and Brooks Brothers — have been busy for weeks constructing their spaces inside the shell of the mall. Anchors and restaurants, such as Dillard’s and the Cheesecake Factory, already look nearly complete from the outside. Premiere tenants Macy’s and Saks Fifth Avenue are already promoting sneak-peek charity events to take place just days before the Oct. 16 mall debut.
