Black Friday Boom
A record 247 million shoppers visited stores and websites over Black Friday weekend, up from 226 million last year. Making sure to take advantage of retailers’ promotions to the full extent, the average holiday shopper spent $423 this weekend, up from $398 last year. Total spending reached an estimated $59.1 billion.

47% of smartphone users use a shopping app. Make sure to get on your mall’s mobile marketing platform if they have one. At the very least, mall maps and store locators for mobile phones can help customers locate you and your services easily.

Small Business Saturday Soars
American Express’ campaign has been gaining momentum every year. 2012 was no exception. Consumers spent $5.5 billion at independent retailers across the country. It’s not too early to plan for this year’s holiday season. Creating a well-planned strategy for SBS will make sure you get a nice chunk of that spending pie.
