Pretzel Franchise Round-up

Auntie Anne’s Pretzels

Auntie Anne’s, the largest and most well recognized brand of all the pretzel franchises, has stores in traditional and non-traditional locations from malls to casinos and even inside Walmart and Meijer department stores. This snack-food leader has more than 1,650 locations in 48 states and 30 countries. It’s part of FOCUS Brands, Inc., the franchisor and operator of over 4,500 ice cream shops, bakeries, restaurants and cafes in the United States, Puerto Rico and 63 foreign countries under the brand names Carvel, Cinnabon, Schlotzsky’s, Moe’s Southwest Grill and McAlister’s Deli as well as the franchisor of Seattle’s Best Coffee on certain military bases and in some international markets. While Auntie Anne’s does not share proprietary sales data, they say the East Coast is among its strongest markets with
continued growth.

The company embodies a vibrant corporate culture centered on customer service. Okey Reese, Vice President of Real Estate for Auntie Anne’s, says, “Our vision is to serve and positively impact lives, one pretzel and one customer at a time.”

Auntie Anne’s is not looking for one type of franchisee. “Passion for our brand and experience do matter,” Reese says. “We have franchisees with varying levels of experience, from owner/operators with one store to larger franchisees with over 50 stores.” Auntie Anne’s is focusing on locations in enclosed malls, airports, outlets, train stations and other high-traffic alternative venues.
