Lemon Ice’s signage is definitely eye-catching. It starts with the company’s creative use of a lemon slice to depict the “O” in the word “lemon.” The store name—in large capital letters—is brought to life with a dark gray and bright turquoise color palette against what looks like a maple-stained wooden background. There’s also a fun dot between the two words. These details transform a mere store name into a graphic icon that shoppers recognize and remember. It also signals that this shop is brimming with fun and unique merchandise. Additionally, the sign’s background complements the interior flooring of the space, allowing for greater unity in the overall design.

First Runner-Up – RAIN

RAIN’s storefront absolutely sizzles with its electric blue custom channel backlit signage that creates a high-energy environment. Customizing the fonts to create this logo along with the illuminated background enhances the blue “glow” for a great overall look. Notice how the signage breaks below the plain of the bulkhead, adding more interest and depth. The engaging color and 3D nature of the sign complements the eye-catching blue walls and brightly colored apparel featured within the store. The bright blue hues are a fantastic juxtaposition to the distressed wood floor and front table display. Judge Fisher states, “RAIN definitely has the wow factor.”

Second Runner-Up – Urban Style

Urban Style drafts the entire storefront to work as its signage, which is typified by a stylized drawing of a bustling cityscape with high-rise buildings reaching for the sky. As you approach the store, it actually looks as if the city is sitting directly on top of Urban Style’s ceiling! The choice of brushed aluminum lettering provides the texture associated with an urban environment. Judge Fisher comments, “Simple, but telling, love it!”
