18th Annual Visual Victories Awards
Best Kiosk Display
Winner – Mistura
Retailer: Fernando Delgado
Location: Westfield Valley Fair, Santa Clara, CA
Entry submitted by: Meiling Chuong
Visual Merchandiser: Mistura
Mistura’s kiosk grabs your attention with its unique shape with contours that produce a sense of movement within the design itself. The use of wood throughout this kiosk suggests sustainability and craftsmanship—the same values that are present in the company’s line of timepieces that are handcrafted from wood and other renewable resources. The kiosk is anchored with wood flooring to help pull all elements together. Judge Thomas states, “Watches are a challenging product to display well. I think this kiosk has done an incredible job by creating a unique display to showcase their product, while maintaining a low profile not blocking the sightlines of the surrounding retailers. The natural wood tones are warm and inviting.” The merchandising strategy suggests that these watches are unique and, in fact, Mistura says each of its timepieces are original, exotic designs that take up to 85 hours to create.
First Runner-Up – Deja Vu Cosmetics
Deja Vu Cosmetics—manufacturer and importer of original Dead Sea mineral products like mud masks, body scrubs and eye-lifting serum—combines simple sleek lines along with movement and backlit graphics to tell the story of its cosmetic line. Judge Baker comments, “Excellent, clean, neat, sleek and professional.” The design allows for you to actually enter the kiosk and feel very removed from the common area of the mall. This helps shoppers focus on the skincare and spa products and allows for discussions with sales staff about the company’s anti-aging and rejuvenating treatments.
Second Runner-Up – Clonhadas
Clonhadas’ kiosk pulls together the theme of a good night’s sleep—with its line of comfy pajamas for the entire family—through the use of contrasting white and black colors and a unique fixture design that includes a cute, three-dimensional sheep that doubles as a product display. Judge Paradeis says, “Nice curves and design makes this an eye-catching kiosk.” A large backlit sign monument with lifestyle images help tell the story of comfort and style.
